Ms. Swati Ghildiyal, learned counsel appearing for the State
of Gujarat, submits that the petitioner (Khalid Ahmed), who was
convicted for offences under Sections 120B, 121, 121A and 122 of
the Indian Penal Code and under Sections 3(3), 20(1), 21(1) and 22
of the POTA and under Section 25(1) (A) (A) and 29 of the Indian
Arms Act as well as Section 135(1) of the Bombay Police Act, was
acquitted on 10.03.2023 by the Special Designated Court – POTA at
Ahmedabad. Accordingly, this mater has become infructuous.
2. Mr. Rahul Kriplani, learned counsel, appearing for the
petitioner, has also similar information on the acquittal of the
petitioner.
3. Taking note of the above submissions, we deem it appropriate
to close the proceedings in view of the acquittal of the
petitioner.
4. Pending application(s), if any, shall stand closed.
