Privacy Policy

What we collect

casestatus.in does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the service. When you look up a case status, we process your CNR number or diary number to retrieve publicly available court records, but we do not store this information linked to your identity.

We collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) for security and operations. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted automatically.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — page views, session duration, geographic region, and device type. GA4 collects this data through cookies and device identifiers. We do not use GA4 for remarketing or cross-site tracking. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

GA4 data is processed by Google LLC under their Privacy Policy. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymisation enabled and data retention set to 14 months.

Google AdSense

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.

AdSense data is processed by Google LLC. For more details, see How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Infrastructure & data storage

casestatus.in runs on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with servers located in the asia-south1 region (Mumbai, India). Court case data is cached in Google Firestore and Google Cloud Storage to provide fast responses and reduce load on official court systems. Cached data is sourced from publicly available court records and does not constitute personal data collected from users.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics session and measurement cookies. Expire after 2 years.
  • __gads, __gpi — Google AdSense advertising cookies. Expire after 13 months.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the site may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.

Third-party links

Our pages may occasionally link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites — please review their policies before sharing personal information.

Your rights and data deletion

casestatus.in does not store personal data about individual users beyond server logs (retained for 30 days). If you believe we hold personal data about you and wish to request deletion, email us at hello@casestatus.in with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of casestatus.in after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
