UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R We have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned ASG appearing for the respondent. We had passed over the matter on the first call, as the petitioner was not agreable to parole with escort in uniform. The learned ASG appearing for the respondent submitted that though there is no dispute on the scheduled marriage of the sister of the petitioner, his request for parole without escort in unif orm may not be considered. During the second hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner made a suggestion that while the petitioner can be escorted with police without uniform, he can be placed in the prison of the local police station
3 during the night and thereafter, be taken to the place of marriage with the escort. This arrangement can be made for about two days. There is no serious objection in this regard by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent. Accordingly, we grant parole to the petitioner starting from tomorrow i.e. 21 st February, 2026, with the condition that the petitioner shall report back to the prison on or before 5 p.m. on 23 rd February, 2026. The petitioner shall be accompanied by the escort as decided by the respondent, without uniform. The petitioner shall be kept in the prison of a local police station and, therefore, in their custody, during the nights of 21 st and 22 nd February, 2026. Thereafter, he can be taken to the place of marriage by the escort. The expenses of the escort shall be borne by the respondent- State.
