ITEM NO.31 COURT NO.14 SECTION II-C S U P R E M E C O U R T O F I N D I A RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Petition(s) for Special Leave to Appeal (Crl.) No(s).4149/2023 [Arising out of impugned final judgment and order dated 16-09-2022 in CRLRC No.743/2022 passed by the High Court of Judicature at Madras] TEKEPAT SATISH CHANDRA MENON Petitioner(s) VERSUS ASHA PANICKAR & ANR. (IA No. 118537/2025 - EXEMPTION FROM FILING C/C OF THE IMPUGNED JUDGMENT) Date : 31-07-2025 These matters were called on for hearing today. CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AHSANUDDIN AMANULLAH HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE S.V.N. BHATTI For Petitioner(s) Mr. Dhiraj Abraham Philip, AOR Mr. T. Harish Kumar, AOR For Respondent(s) Ms. Shobha Gupta, Sr. Adv. Ms. Namrata Mohapatra, Adv. Mr. Dhiraj Abraham Philip, AOR UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R In view of the peculiar facts of the case, the matters have been taken up out of turn. As per learned senior counsel appearing for the wife, the arrears which were required to be cleared by the

husband is almost Rs.78,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy Eight Lakhs) as per the original High Court order, are still outstanding. 2. Learned counsel for the husband submits that today, a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) has been transferred. We are really surprised and rather shocked at such casual stand taken on behalf of the husband; when the dues staring at his face is almost Rs.78,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy Eight Lakhs), a token amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) being transferred today speaks volumes about his bona fide and conduct. However, before taking a final view in the matter and passing appropriate orders to set matters right, we deem it appropriate to direct the husband to file his up-to-date bank statement of all his bank accounts. The same shall be accompanied by an undertaking by him that these are the only bank accounts maintained by him and further that he has no other financial assets. 3. List on 04.08.2025, high on Board 4. In the meantime, an amount of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs) shall immediately be transferred directly into the bank account of the wife by the husband, latest by day after tomorrow i.e., 02.08.2025..
