UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following O R D E R Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties. In the present case, the parties are married way-back in the year 1988 and have been living separately since 1994. Given the fact that the marriage has irretrievably broken down, we are of the view that a sum of Rs. 20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs only) to be handed over by the petitioner to the respondent will meet the ends of justice. We, accordingly, set aside the orders of the courts below and sever the marital relation.

2 The petitioner undertakes to us that he will pay this sum of Rs.20,00,000/- in two instalments. The first instalment of Rs.10,00,000/- within a period of two months from today and the second instalment of Rs.10,00,000/- within two months thereafter.
