O R D E R
1. Leave granted.
2. The Labour Court by an award held in favour of the appellant and directed
his reinstatement with back wages.
3. Aggrieved thereby, the employer challenged the award of the Labour
Court before the writ court. Single Judge of the High Court upheld the challenge
and set aside the award of the Labour Court.
4. The appellant preferred an appeal before the Division Bench, challenging
the order of setting aside of the award. Noting that the appellant was employed
in another Panchayat during the relevant period, the Division Bench considered
it fit and proper to dispose of the appeal by granting a monetary compensation
of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty-five thousand) only to the appellant. Payment of
such compensation has been made in favour of the appellant, as far back as on
14th September, 2020.
5. The appellant, aggrieved by the sum awarded as compensation by the

Division Bench, is in appeal.
6. Having heard learned counsel for the appellant and the respondent and
bearing in mind the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, we enhance
the compensation to a sum of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) only. The
