This appeal by special leave is directed against the order

dated 22.11.2022 passed by the High Court of judicature at

Allahabad in First Appeal No.763/2022. The First Appeal, which

culminated in the impugned judgment, arose from a Divorce Petition

bearing No.122/2016 jointly filed by the appellant and the

respondent under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.

Pending the captioned appeal, the parties have amicably

settled the surviving issues and one of the conditions in the

settlement agreement is that the appellant-husband should pay an

amount of Rs.14 lakhs to the respondent-wife. Today, the learned

counsel appearing for the appellant-husband handed over a Demand

Draft bearing No.582902 worth Rs.6 lakhs, which is the amount

outstanding towards the agreed amount and an additional amount of

Rs.3.5 lakhs agreed upon to be paid by the appellant-husband to the

respondent-wife, to the learned counsel for the respondent-wife for

handing it over to the respondent-wife. It is a fact that accepting
