CRIMINAL APPELLATE JURISDICTION

CRIMINAL APPEAL NO. OF 2026

(arising out of SLP (Crl.) No.151 OF 2026)

PRAVESH KUMAR Appellant(s)

VERSUS

THE STATE OF N.C.T. OF DELHI

Respondent(s)

O R D E R

1. Leave granted.

2. The appellant is aggrieved by the denial of

regular bail by the Delhi High Court, vide

order dated 14/08/2025 passed in Bail

Application No.3623 of 2024, in connection with

FIR No.391 of 2023 dated 27/05/2023 registered

at P.S. Dayalpur, Delhi, for offences

punishable under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471,

and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

custody since 20/06/2023. Charges were framed

as long back as on 03/04/2025 but the trial is

yet to commence for want of a report from the

Forensic Science Laboratory.

4. We are informed that the father and the son

of the appellant, who are arrayed as co-accused

in this offence, were denied anticipatory bail

and have been absconding since then. However,

considering the nature of the offence and the

length of incarceration suffered by the

appellant, we are of the opinion that no

grounds are made out to continue the same at

this stage as charges have already been framed.

5. The appeal is accordingly allowed, setting

aside the order dated 14/08/2025 passed by the

2

High Court. The appellant shall be released on

bail on such stringent terms as may...
