We have heard learned counsel for the appellant and learned
counsel for the respondent(s)/State.
We dispose of this Civil Appeal by reducing the rate of simple
interest from 24% per annum to 8% per annum without interfering in
any other aspect of the matter.
The interest amount that has to be paid by the appellant @ 8%
simple interest per annum to the respondent(s)/State shall be
computed and paid within a period of six weeks from today without
constraining the respondent(s)/State to take any further legal action
against the appellant herein.
