1. Leave granted.
2. The High Court by the impugned judgment and order
dated 23rd August, 2024 has rejected the appellant’s
prayer for bail in anticipation of arrest.
3. The appellant figures as an accused in FIR No.69/2024
dated 28th June, 2024, registered at Police Station-PS NRI,
District-Sas Nagar. It is alleged therein that the appellant
has committed offence punishable under Sections 406,
420, 465, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code,
1860.
4. We have heard learned counsel appearing for the
appellant, the respondent-State of Punjab and the
intervenor-complainant and perused the counter affidavit

filed by the respondent-State of Punjab. It is stated therein
that although the appellant has joined investigation in
terms of the earlier orders of this Court but he has not
extended full cooperation with the Investigating Officer.
5. Having regard to the nature of allegations leveled
against the appellant together with the fact that the
intervenor-complainant is yet to institute a civil suit for
recovery of money allegedly due and payable to him by
the appellant, custodial interrogation of the appellant does
