O R D E R

1. Pursuant to our order dated 20.08.2024 expressing our

concern about non-commissioning of the Sewage Treatment

Plants, the Central Pollution Control Board was called upon to

conduct a site visit and to examine and file an affidavit to

that effect.

2. Affidavit to that effect has been filed by Mr. Vishal

Gandhi, Scientist “E” in Central Pollution Control Board.

3. Relevant portion of the affidavit which is important for

everybody to know is as under:

“15.That the observations of the CPCB team regarding the operational status of the STPs, as reported in the affidavit dated 17.08.2024, are as follows:

i. During the site inspection of the operational and under construction STPs established in various districts/town of the State of Chhattisgarh, it was found that total 18 STPs were operational and 07 were found under construction. The numbers of operational STPs i.e. 18 is one number more than the numbers reported in last affidavit i.e. 17.8.2024. STP at Nava Raipur Zone-4 which was reported under construction in the submitted affidavit is also made operational.
