1. Leave granted.
2. By the impugned order dated 29th February, 2024, the High Court
has rejected the appellant’s prayer for bail in anticipation of arrest.
3. We have heard learned counsel appearing for the appellant as
well as the respondent-State of Bihar and perused the materials
available on record.
4. The appellant figures as an accused in FIR No.285/2023 dated
18th June, 2023 registered with Police Station Bikram, Paliganj, Distt.
Patna. It is alleged in the FIR that the appellant, with ulterior motives,
has changed entries in land records once his demand for bribe was not
met by the complainant and, accordingly, has committed offence(s)
punishable under Sections 166-A, 167, 420, 468, 471, 120-B, 323, 504
read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
5. It appears from the counter affidavit of the respondent-State of
Bihar that the appellant has responded to the notice issued under
Section 41-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 19731 and joined
