Leave granted.
2. Heard Mr. Narendra Kumar, learned counsel appearing for
the appellant. Also heard Mr. H. Chandra Sekhar, learned
counsel for the respondents.
3. The accident in question has resulted in death of the
parents and the grandfather of the respondents (claimants).
The deceased father Murugesan was working as Financial
Controller in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. His earning
was assessed on the basis of the salary drawn by the deceased
at the time of the accident.
4. Having considered the basis for the compensation computed
by the MACT, Kanchipuram, we see no infirmity therein. That
apart, the appeal filed by the appellant before the High Court
was delayed by 319 days and accordingly as the explanation was
not found acceptable, the same was dismissed.

5. We therefore see no reason to disturb the view taken by
the MACT and the High Court, in favour of the claimants. The
appeal is accordingly dismissed.
6. The appellant had deposited Rs.43,82,300/- before the
MACT on 03.01.2022. This principal amount is payable with
