Once permanent alimony is granted under Section 25(1) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, a spouse cannot seek additional maintenance before a Magistrate under Section 125 CrPC; any modification must be pursued through Section 25(2) of the Act before the court that passed the original order.
